Registrar General and Census Commissioner of India reviews Census Pre-Test operations in Faridabad

Faridabad, November 11: On the second day of the ongoing Census Pre-Test, Registrar General and Census Commissioner of India, Sh. Mritunjay Kumar Narayan, IAS, visited Faridabad Municipal Corporation to review the progress and functioning of the field operations.

He was warmly received by Director, Census Operations, Haryana, Sh. Lalit Jain, IAS, along with Deputy Commissioner Faridabad, Sh. Vikram Yadav; ACMC Ms. Saloni Sharma; SDM Faridabad, Sh. Amit Kumar; Zonal Technical Officer-cum-Charge Officer, Smt. Shrishti Babbar; ADCO, Haryana, Sh. Krishan Kumar; and RWA President, Sector 29, Ward 24, Faridabad, Smt. Nisha Khan.

During his visit, Sh. Narayan personally inspected the Household Listing Block (HLB) and evaluated the functioning of the Digital Location Mapping (DLM) App being used in the Census Pre-Test. He interacted with field staff, including enumerators and supervisors, to assess their experience with the mobile-based data collection tools.

The Registrar General appreciated the efforts of the field teams and emphasized the importance of accuracy and efficiency in data collection. He encouraged enumerators and supervisors to share constructive feedback on the DLM App and the overall methodology being implemented, noting that their insights would help refine processes ahead of the full-scale Census.

The visit underscored the Census Department’s commitment to leveraging digital technology for transparent, efficient, and reliable data collection across the country.
